Merlins Drive In in Garden City

One of a number of ice-cream and food shops located along the main drag of Garden City. Merlin's is always busy in the summertime, but for a good reason. The food is good and the ice cream in great with generous portions. Their service is usually quick, but they can get swamped at times and you might have a short wait. Stop by when you are heading through!!

The food was excellent! The buns for our burgers and sandwiches were so thick and good. The shakes are crazy big. When they say over the top, they mean OVER the top! We will definitely be going back.

Confederate flags drawn on dollar bills on the ceiling. None of the employees were wearing masks or gloves. Then to top it off an employee had a visible swastika tattoo. There are tons of great restaurants in the area no need to go here.

Great food at good prices with great service. I had the jalapeno bacon cheeseburger which was awesome. Shakes are huge and delicious.

Most places in Bear Lake are closed on Sundays but love that Merlins is open. Great food and of course raspberry shakes!

Great food, I got the bacon cheese burger with fries and a peach shake. The shakes are thick and huge. Very friendly people working there. Clean location.

Good food. If they can somehow improve the social distancing that would be great. They had way more people standing in the line inside the restaurant than customers who are eating inside.

Food was great. I had grilled chicken sandwich, delicious. Fries were awesome. Only downfall was my husband ordered bacon on his pastrami burger (which was extra) and didn’t get any.

Really delicious food, and very understanding and kind employees. Will definetly be a repeat on future trips to bear lake.

Merlins is a regular stop when we go to Bear Lake, always good and a friendly staff, I just had to add to their license plate collection and got a free milkshake.

We ate dinner here again, it was so good! Much better than last year! The jalapeno bacon burger is to die for! The shakes are great too! We went twice in 6 days! We'll be back next year!

SO GOOD!! Hands down the best burger I’ve had in a long time! If you like sweet and spicy go for the jalapeño bacon burger! I was surprised to see a sweet jelly on it but when I tasted it I understood, YUM!! The rest of my family got a burger and double burger and they were large and really good too! I can’t wait til next time I’m in town to come back!!

Huge serving sizes, fresh delicious food. Best mushroom burger I’ve ever had. The Merlin burger is moist and amazing. Best tots in the world! Fries are good too. Outdoor seating is nice and regularly cleaned. Family friendly with playground.

Honestly just average food. The jalapeno bacon burger had raving reviews and neither my husband or I really enjoyed it (I do think it has potential, but something just wasn't right). The fries were good. The shake was the best part, but still could have used a bit more raspberry. I was also expecting the fry sauce and ranch to be homemade, but they were both packaged. Probably not worth the 45 minute wait in line (on a Sunday, at that).

Merlins...at Bear Lake. Had a raspberry shake. It was delicious, the raspberries were frozen though.Also there was no social distancing at all and about half of the customers had no masks. Still a pleasant way to spend a Sunday.

Good burgers, and good shakes. Nothing here has ever been fantastic to me, but well worth what I pay, and a good afternoon lunch. We have been here 3 times trying to buy the Merlinator and they have always told us it isn't available for many different reasons. Everyone up in Garden City makes burgers and that would be the only thing that could really help them stand out again. I'm going back in a few weeks and will try ordering it again, but we'll see.

Horrible service on front desk people. Food was pretty good. Ordered burger with bacon didn't get the bacon, went back next day and told them and we got a shake and they didn't do anything. Asked how much bacon was she said 2 dollars its expensive, we said yea especially if you don't get it. She said what you want 2 bucks back very rude. Could of took of the shake price. Wont be going back there bers shake and sodas is way better for shakes

The food is fantastic here at Merlin's. They actually use fresh fruit for their shakes, too, not flavored syrup. You get the freshest ingredients with their burgers and fries, too. Plus it's a fun place to come with the decorations and lawn chair butterflies! Highly recommend Merlin's!

The shakes were good. The lines were crazy long. TheAtmosphere was fun. Not sure what all the dollars are all about but the staff was great would come anytime. Just beware. You want the best you got to be patient. I’d definitely come here again

They were really quick getting our meals out, and the burger was perfect. You have to try their raspberry shake!
